    Women in Rocktail

Rocktail Nights are hosted by two very talented Women in Rock, Kristen Kreft and MayaLou Banatwala. Rocktails take place at The Listing Loon in Cincinnati, Ohio every Second Saturday. In addition, they’re starting to team up with The American Sign Museum for some fun summer events to be shared soon! Kristen Kreft plays guitar and sings in The Perfect Children, a fabulously rockin’ retro vibin’ band. Kristen is also singing with The Brian Olive Band for live shows. In the Know- May 2017

May’s In the Know is a question for the greatest multitaskers, moms who are musicians! Happy Mother’s Day! The question is: How has being a musician enhanced your ability to be a parent? Patricia Morrison (The Bags, The Gun Club, Sisters of Mercy, The Damned, Legal Weapon)- I understand toddler behaviour after being in bands. Kind of weird how similar a four year old is to a musician. Anyone with a 2 year old knows they believe the world rotates around them. Very self motivated and a tantrum here and there. Beth Harris: Cincinnati’s Straight Shooter

By Roxie Conquistador If you’re looking for a straight shooter, the honorable Beth Harris (“Delia P. Hider”) is your girl. Hailing from a lineage of cowboys and chorus lines, she embodies the epitome of both, lending pitch perfect vocals and shivering shakin’ to two impressive Cincinnati, Ohio bands: The Hiders and The Perfect Children. When I first saw The Hiders, I had to drive about 80 miles into the country, following a hand-scrawled invitation that instructed me to “drive until the road no longer exists and turn right at the broken fence with the ‘Keep Out’ sign”. Beyond that, woods. Into them I dove along with one of my oldest…
